Written by Allen Pote and Tom Long, the story has all the ingredients of success: a simple story with a lesson told by a teacher who knew and loved his audience. In “Once Upon A Parable”, a group of energetic storytellers tries to capture the humor and contemporary flavor of the parables found in the New Testament and use them to retell the story of Jesus.

The InnKeeper's Daughter

The Children's Christmas Cantata

The production will feature a 16-member cast and three youth and children’s choirs spanning Kindergarten through 8th grade. The story, written by FCC member Donna Sarvay, was inspired by the traditional French carol, Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella. The story follows the innkeepers as they greet the weary Mary and Joseph at their door. Their daughters, Jeannette, Isabella, and the youngest, Me Too, are awoken by the light of the star and see these weary travelers choose to sleep in their stable because there was no more room in their inn. Soon it is apparent that these are very special guests, as villagers, shepherds, angels and kings begin to arrive at their door.

Ann Tucker, Director of Music, will direct the cast and Chancel and Carol

Youth Choirs. Lorrie Hiatt and Allison Atteberry direct the Melody Makers

Children’s Choir. Danielle Cairoli will accompany on piano.

There will be no Sunday School classes so all children may attend church with their parents to enjoy the wonderful presentation in drama and song.
